While the NBA schedule will not come out until tomorrow night, league sources have started to leak a few details for hungry NBA fans. We already knew a few things going into today. OKC will visit the Garden on Christmas, the Knicks and Nets will square off on MLK Day, and the Knicks and Heat will do battle the day before the SuperBowl. And now, a league source has leaked the first opponent of the season for the Knicks. On opening night, the Knicks will face off against…. 

The Bucks?????

League sources are indicating that the Knicks will indeed take on the Bucks to begin the season, most likely at the Garden. The Bucks are rebuilding after having lost their three best players in free agency this summer, so this isn’t exactly what you’d call a prime-time matchup. But hey, at least we are on tap for a pretty easy win to start it off, if we take care of business.

LeBron considering the Knicks? ESPN reports Superstar is thinking about joining Carmelo in 2015

Stephen A Smith said on ESPN Radio today that LeBron James has let word leak out that he will strongly consider joining the Knicks in 2 years. Smith’s reporting should always be taken with a grain of thought, but if LeBron is willing to opt-in to his contract for one more season after this year, it would enable him to become a free agent right when the Knicks have all of their contracts coming off the books. If James opts-out and signs another max deal this coming summer, the Knicks have no chance of getting him. If he opts in after next season, the Knicks will be one of the frontrunners in the chase for James as they can seek to unite him with Carmelo Anthony & others. Again, be wary of Stephen A Smith’s legitimacy, but stay tuned, because if LeBron is opting in this coming summer, the chase is back on in New York.

Here are the latest updates in the world of Knicks Rumors

 

  • The Knicks are pursuing PG Delonte West. West has been in contact with New York and Memphis
  • The Knicks extended a training camp invite to PG Tourre Murry
  • The Knicks also extended an invite to PF/C Jeremy Tyler
  • The Knicks re-signed Kenyon Martin
  • JR Smith had knee surgery and may miss the beginning of the season
  • When asked about playing for the Lakers next season Carmelo Anthony said “I doubt it”
  • The Knicks appear to have at least some degree of interest in both Tyrus Thomas and Ivan Johnson
  • PG Bobby Brown will likely sign with the Knicks or in China.
  • The Knicks now have 12 men under contract and 2 players who have received training camp invites. The Knicks will need to add at least one more PG and one big man.
