Tracy McGrady has announced his retirement from the NBA. While T-Mac’s best days came in Orlando and Houston, Knicks fans will remember him for a fun 2-month stretch during which he brought excitement to the Garden (sound familiar?) after coming over in a trade with the Rockets during “The Dark Days”. McGrady had a great career, but it’s hard not to wonder what could have been if he had stayed healthy.

Young Fan Pulls Prank on Knicks’ Shooting Guard

A couple days ago, I got a message from a fan by the name of Brian O’Grady who told me he was an avid fan of Knicks Shooting Guard JR Smith. After taking a look at Brian’s twitter (and his desperate attempts to get acknowledged by Smith), I felt a bit bad, because I knew the odds of J.R sending Brian a tweet were rather low.
However, while Brian may have been facing an uphill battle in trying to get noticed by Smith, one of the things he tweeted struck me as rather true.
Brian was spot-on, but unfortunately, he is not an attractive woman of hispanic descent, and he is too big of a fan of Smith to insult the Knicks’ star Sixth Man.
But as Clyde Frazier would say, Brian “would not be denied”. Brian changed his twitter profile— the header, the picture, the bio, everything— and took on the role of a stunning young hispanic woman named “Marissa Prejano”. He (she?) then sent J.R a tweet, and Smith promptly responded.
Brian then changed his profile back, but the evidence of Smith’s tweet to “Marissa” remains
Well played, Brian. And as for you, Mr. Smith, I hear there is a certain Chargers Linebacker who wants to be your friend.
So in conclusion, if there is anyone out there who wants to have a chat with JR Smith, you better be prepared to “edit” some of your background info first.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jeremy Lin discussed the stress he felt during his first season with the Rockets as he tried to live up to “Linsanity”, revealing that he often had trouble sleeping and even cried before a game. You can read what Jeremy had to say here.
Remember when Iman Shumpert posted THIS photo on his Instagram a couple months ago? According to sources, it appears that the Knicks could make this orange-and-white jersey their new alternate look for this coming season. JR Smith has reportedly been cruising around the streets of New York in an armored vehicle worth over 450,000 dollars. It is never safe to go inside the mind of JR Smith, but if I had to guess, i would say that Smith has realized how badly he needs a crash-proof car. Good to see he learned at least ONE lesson from Jason Kidd last season.
