The Knicks beat the Bucks 122-97 in Milwaukee in the season opener on Wednesday night. Here’s how it all went down:

The Knicks started a bit sluggishly, but went on a 15-0 run spanning the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second, and they never looked back, outscoring Milwaukee in every quarter.

New York got solid production from its newcomers. Derrick Williams had 24 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes. Kyle O’Quinn had eight points and 11 boards. Sasha Vujacic had 11 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists. Kristaps Porzingis struggled from the field, but had an excellent night at the line en route to a 16 point performance in his NBA debut. Also making his NBA debut was Jerian Grant, who scored 10 points, dished out five dimes and had three steals. Robin Lopez had two blocks on an otherwise quiet night. Arron Afflalo and Kevin Seraphin missed the game.

Of the returning players, Langston Galloway led the way with 16 points and Lance Thomas surprisingly had 13. José Calderón struggled and Cleanthony Early was a non-factor.

Carmelo Anthony had a rough night with just 11 points on 4-16 shooting, but had six rebounds, five assists, a steal and a block. Melo’s teammates picked him up, showing off the team’s newfound depth in the offensive onslaught.

The Bucks were led by 22 points and 14 rebounds from offseason Knicks target Greg Monroe. Michael Carter-Williams also had 20, but the Bucks turned it over 18 times and clearly missed the suspended Giannis Antetokounmpo and injured Jabari Parker.

The Knicks’ next game is Thursday night, when they will face the Hawks at 8 PM in New York’s home opener. You can buy tickets here.
